this week went good, i finished my edit and started some cool new projects

i worked on the career pathway option and made a video edit

What problems did you have?

I wanted to start experimenting with glitchy effects and datamoshing but when i opened the datamosh app thing it wasn’t working. i had to find one that worked and that was time consuming. I also never got my video to render because after effects just wouldn’t open

What will you work on next week?

next week i’ll work on the slideshow portfolio and maybe even update my resume. i’m also gonnna work on some other projects that i could possibly put in the slideshow too

I would’ve posted the video i was working on but after effects is being annoying and wOnt open. i try to force quit it but it won’t force quit. i think it’s just my laptop but once it works i’ll render it and post it.

What did you work on this week?

The career pathways option, I worked on a video edit. I also did some of my slideshow

What problems did you have?

In the past I used a separate program specifically for data moshing, I tried to open it recently and it wasn’t working so I had to delete it and find a version that was compatible with my macbook, it was time consuming and hard to find but i eventually found it and re downloaded it again. Another problem was just my laptop being slow but its okay

What will you work on next week?

Im going to finish up this edit if if i don’t end up finishing it this weekend. Next week i’m going to pick another assignment option and work on the slideshow for sure.

How did this week go for you?

Good, it was definitely better than last week. I got more motivation for my schoolwork and started getting things back on track.

again, creative cloud is reallyyyy slow on my laptop so I asked my cousin if i could borrow hers and use the photoshop on there since its faster.

i might try to do the individual career pathway video idea again next week or I will do a different assignment i’m not sure yet.

What were your goals for this week?

my goals for this week was to make a video for the career pathways option.

what did you achieve this week in terms of your goals?

i made a moodboard and found a general theme I was gonna use. I decided to make the video focused on the color blue. I gathered all my clips and audio I was gonna use. I started editing the video.

what problems did you have?

I kinda lost inspiration and couldn’t envision the finishing result that I wanted anymore. I doubted myself and kept telling myself it wasn’t good. Due to this I didn’t participate in the gallery walk which i also really regret. I didn’t want to present something bad that was unfinshed and probably could’ve been better if i kept trying. That week was really not my week.

how did you fix these problems?

honestly I didn’t, i just gave up. I knew that I could be making something better and had the potential to do it, i just didnt set my mind to it.

what are your plans for next week?

spring break! nothing. But week after Im going to try the photography idea again. Retry taking photos and editing them.

i planned everything out and took the photos but I just never edited them. They never turned out the way I wanted them to.

how did you fix these problems?

I switched assignments which was a bad idea!. I decided to do the career pathway option and make a video. Instead of doing that and giving up I look on it now and realize I should’ve at least attempted to edit the photos i took.

I did the abstract photography option, never finished though.

my goals for this week was to work on stop motion

What did you achieve this week in terms of your goals?

i started working on stop motion, i finished my storyboard and script and started shooting

What problems did you have?

a problem i had was making sure the camera doesn’t move while shooting, and trying to get the play dough not to dry out

How did you fix those problems?

i fixed this by being more careful around my setup so i don’t accidentally move the tripod and things like that, i also started over and put something to cover the play dough to prevent drying.

What are your plans for next week?

my plans for next week is to finish shooting and start editing. start working on the audio and putting everything together.

What did you accomplish/learn this week?

this week i finished my brainstorming and story boarding for stop motion. I also learned how to use and took some pictures with the micro lens and took some photos of nature with it. i also did a photoshoot for the on line assignment. i also edited some pictures that i never got to finish editing.

What are your plans for next week?

my plans for next week are to start shooting for stop motion and finish by the end of the week. i also want to finish the script and audio and editing process for it.

What did you create this week?

This week I started using the pin puppet tool in after effects to try to kinda “animate” the illustrator project I was working on. I also imported and started editing the photoshoot I took during the weekend, I also edited some pictures for my friend cause she asked me to.

(the pin puppet tool is this tool in after effects thats good for making pictures move and to do easy and quick animations)

What problems did you have this week and how did you overcome them?

Some problems I had was kind of more on the creative side of things. I had these pictures but didn’t know how I wanted to edit them or where I wanted to go with it. I fixed this by getting other creative minds to help with ideas, so i asked Mary to help me and get some of her opinions and thoughts. When I was editing the pictures for my friend I was a little stuck too, I just started playing around with the tools until I got somewhere I wanted. I also made different edits for each picture so she can choose which one she likes. The most challenging problem was using the pin puppet tool for the first time. I was confused how to use it and whenever I imported the picture it wouldn’t show up. I watched some YouTube tutorials and I tried exporting it in different ways, i tried making it a png, jpeg, or just importing it as an ai, i also changed the stroke color to white and the background color in after effects to white, eventually I got it. I think it was just after effect being weird because I quit the app and tried it again and it worked.

What are your goals for next week?

My goals next week are mostly finishing. Finish editing these photos I took and finish animating this illustrator pin puppet thing. Im also going to restart my resume and add more stuff, as well as edit my website. If i have time I might start something new or check out a camera.
